Founded by Barb Palmer, Sens8 began as a sex-positive private practice dedicated to improving individuals’ sexual health and wellness.
At the time, there were no local services offering tailored psychosexual therapy (sex therapy) and sexuality education alongside sexual health and wellness supports for people with disability.
Recognising this gap, Barb drew on her extensive expertise as a sexologist, sexuality educator, and accredited disability social worker to create meaningful, sex-positive change in her community.
Sens8 has since grown to support all members of the community, not just those with disability.
With a deep understanding of how medical diagnoses, trauma, and life experiences can influence sexual health and relationships, Sens8 helps individuals explore strategies to enhance their sexual well-being and overall quality of life.
The name Sens8 is inspired by the words sensate and sensation, reflecting our focus on how people feel, perceive, and engage their senses in response to life’s experiences.
