Barb Palmer (she/her) is an accredited disability social worker, clinical psychosexual therapist, and clinical sexological educator with over 30 years of experience across government, non-government, and private sectors. She holds postgraduate qualifications in disability, sexology, social work, and education, and is known for her compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed approach.
Barb specialises in working with individuals across the lifespan who are navigating complex challenges—including psychosocial disability, trauma, sexualised behaviours, communication barriers, and issues related to sexual health, relationships, and identity. Her services are accessible to people receiving NDIS supports as well as those engaged through mainstream health, education, or community pathways.
As the Director of Sens8 Support Services, Barb provides therapeutic intervention, EMDR therapy, sexual health and capacity-building education, and comprehensive assessments. She collaborates closely with individuals, families, GPs, specialists, support coordinators, mental health clinicians, and allied health professionals to ensure person-centred, evidence-informed outcomes.
Barb is deeply committed to promoting sexual wellness, consent, autonomy, and safety—areas often overlooked in both disability and mainstream care. Her work supports people to build knowledge, increase confidence, and live informed, connected, and fulfilling lives.

Her approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and delivered in a private and confidential setting. Individuals are always given the choice to involve others in their therapy, and Barb engages with parents, caregivers, legal guardians, and decision-makers when required to ensure holistic and person-centred support.
