NDIS

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is overseen by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). It provides funding for eligible Australians who have a permanent and significant disability, either from birth or acquired later in life.

  • A permanent disability means the disability is likely to be lifelong.
  • A significant disability refers to one that has a major impact on a person’s ability to complete daily activities.

The NDIS funds reasonable and necessary supports related to a person's disability to help them achieve their goals.

  • Reasonable: The support is most appropriately funded by the NDIS.
  • Necessary: The support is needed and directly related to the person’s disability.

Sens8 Support Services is not a registered NDIS provider and works with plan-managed and self-managed participants. It utilises Service Agreements to ensure:

  • Transparency of the supports provided
  • Clear understanding of costs, agreed upon in advance
  • Agreed responsibilities and expectations of both parties before services begin
  • Known and agreed conflict resolution strategies

For further details on the NDIS, including eligibility and how to apply, visit the NDIS website - www.ndis.gov.au
